Hi Everybody,
I know that this one is not going to be to everyones taste.
I’ve seen some simalar shots and people seems to be put off
by the amount of foreground.Anyway, I always appriciate the feedback. Good and bad.
To be honest i prefer the bad one. It’s helps ye learn ye know. Thanks
graham
cian.m.hayesParticipantI don’t know Graham, there’s an awful lot of foreground . . . it doens’t really work for me. It’s a pitty because, other than that, it looks really good and i think a closer look at the people on the scene might have been really nice (calm relaxing older person and the younger people passing on their way somewhere)

GrahamBParticipantRobMemberGraham,
Personally I like the huge stretch of foreground leading in to the image,
and the top of the wall is creating a perfect ‘horizon’. Where this falls down
for me is that I think you cropped too much away from the top in cutting
off the top rail of the bridge. Just a little more space at the back would
give this the balance it needs in my humble opinion.Rob.
SusieSMemberWell there is something that disturbs me with this pic.
I got a strange feeling of falling (that is the best expression that I came up with) in this picture.
It propably something to do with all the lines in pic.
Maybe it is just my imagination.GrahamBParticipantRob,
your comment on cropping does make sense.
Sadly this is the taken picture – i performed no cropping.I think i was trying to get arty on this and didn’t pull it off.
I wanted the line of the bench to draw you to a hidden subject.
I didn’t want the subject to obvious.
maybe with a bit more practice I will pull the idea off.Graham
ExpresbroParticipantI actually like the original idea too Graham…!! The lead in lines of the bench look great. For me where it loses some impact (that’s my new buzz word ) is the man at the end of the bench. He’s surrounded by distractions. The two boyos to the left and the other couple up further all take away from the image in my view. If they hadn’t been there..it would be perfect, because you could see exactly the focus of the photograph.
Could ya not have shouted at them..”Oi!! hurry up will ya and get out of my shot!!”?
GrahamBParticipantTo be honest robbie i was more concerned with Ciaran leaning over my shoulder asking me did I
get the shot – no pressure or anything.Hopefully heading back into town this saturday with a new 70-300 f/4.0L lense and I have a
list of shots I really want to revisit. this being one of them.ExpresbroParticipantHave you got yer man’s number then..to make sure he’s sitting there again?
Would love to head in too…but have to go do some work in my mum’s old house..then hopefully heading up to Ali’s so she can rob me blind at Poker…(and make pancakes.. )
GrahamBParticipantI’ll be creepy guy sitting waiting for someone to sit down.
Poised and ready to shoot.
In a nice way of course.I could hire someone to stand in for the old man in question.
LoGillParticipantHiya Graham
I love the boardwalk… I have loads of shots taken along it, theres always something to look at. I really like what you tried here with the leading lines… but I feel the subject is a teeny but too small in the image.
