Liffey dusk shoot

Took these at a free dusk field trip organised by Dave McKane from the Institute of Photography. I was very happy to have the chance to go around at night with the camera and my tripod, I normally wouldn’t be able to, so thanks Dave for a very enjoyable and productive night!

From what I understand it can be fixed in PS, but sorry I can’t help you with how to do it, I’m only a novice.
Second one I’m not so keen on, maybe try applying the rule of thirds, the passing car lights don’t really add too much to the image for me, but the Fourcourts themselves are lovely and sharp. Must try get on one of these shoots myself.Kye
shutterbugParticipantHi Esther,
You got the colour right in the first one (unlike me  ) and I love the way you
got the bridge and the lights further down the liffey inculded, it does look a bit
askew, did you have a very wide angle lens? The second shot I like with the light
trails I didnt have much luck with them, must practise more!! and just noticed
that the dome is “pale and interesting” like mine  Strange the way it is white
in some and not in others, must have something to do with the aperture??esthermolineParticipantThanks a lot for the reply, Kye! You’re right about the leaning, although I don’t mind it looking like that myself. I’ve no photoshop so no idea myself about how to fix it either, I’m a novice too! On the second one I guess there’s a conflict between the subjects. I was mainly interested in getting the light trails there.
Thanks, Jenny! You’re right about it being askew. I tried to straighten it but then the dome seemed to lean even more to the left so I left it at that. I had no wide angle lens, just the camera. On the second shot I used the tungsten white balance, whilst on the first one I used the cloudy setting, hence the colour difference on the dome.shutterbugParticipantAhhh! White balance :) doh! its always the simple things that catch you out
