Hi Folks,
There will be some great savings on Elinchrom studio lighting at PhotoFest Ireland

seanmcfotoMemberHi Paddy,
Tried talking to you, but you were a bit swamped. Talked to Barry from Hotshots a bit about Striplights and he was very insightful into their current design issues etc. Hopefully they come on line soon.
The Quantum Q Flash system looks interesting.BarkerPhotographicParticipantHi Sean, Thanks for dropping by – even if we could not get to talk ( Same to anyone else we kept waiting). As a gesture to you we will hold the show deals on LIGHTING until the end of the week – if you are interested. We had twelve people on our stand (three times that of any previous show) and still we were flat out all day. I would love to have some more feedback about the show in general and our stand in particular. As usual we brought a lot more stock than we could dispaly (or even find!) so I would love to know what those of you who attended found interesting (Apart from the Elinchrom D-Lite Kits which flew)? Also what was not interesting / relevant that we can leave behind next time (Photovision show in Croke park Next September). Regards, Paddy Barker

I came and looked at your stand about 3 or 4 times
got to talk to one of the guys from Flaghead about the ringflash
it was cool to see quite a bit of stuff, but my only comment would be there was too much for the space, and so i reckon i only got to look at maybe 10 % of the stuff.
In the situation of that exhibit I am not sure how you do much better
I used to work for an exhibition contractor, the stands i would do would be stuff like playstation etc so bigger, but the same problems are there
one thing that can work is having a flatter stand instead of the corner, as the space was limited in that corner
ExpresbroParticipantIn general I think the whole exhibition area was more than a little cramped. It just seemed it wasn’t designed for the number of people that showed up. Your stand, to me anyway, seemed the busiest in the hall any time I wandered by. One positive comment I heard several times was that You had the largest range of stock available on your stand on the day. It was hard though to get in and have a good look as Steve said, but there really wasn’t much you could have done about that.
Maybe next year the organisers will consider a bigger venue?
Cheers
Robbie

It was rather disappointing to find it taking place in very cramped conditions. There were several occasions where I found it difficult to negotiate the aisles as they were simply blocked by people waiting to talk to someone on a stand.
In contrast to the opinions above, I think a corner is a good place to be – if you can configure the stand to have an outer L shape rather than the inner L shape of Paddy Barkers stand! But of course, that’s something that is dictated to the stand holder by the show organisers. The ideal would have been a quadrant – no sharp corners, easy access and plenty of room to put everything on display. I don’t think the inner L shape as it was, was all that bad. Admittedly it was difficult to gain access right into the corner, but I think that had more to do with the space taken up by the 3-D display more than anything else. It was great to have representatives from various manufacturers/supplier on hand to answer those niggling little questions.
