I see Lightroom 3 has been officialy released, has anyone bought it yet or tried the public beta?
I have lightroom 1 and am wondering is it worth the upgrade?I had beta 2 and thought it was just brilliant. I’ve ordered Lightroom 3 and will have it Monday to install (ordered the CD).
It’s a massive step up from Lightroom 1, and a good jump from Lightroom 2.
I’m really looking forward to using it.
The most important improvement in Lightroom 3 compared to version 2 is under the hood.
in LR3, Adobe really improved the RAW processing engine to improve image rendering. The noise-reduction functionality is also much, much better than before with well-controlled chroma-noise while maintaining detail. All existing images in your library will be processed using the new engine and any new files you import will use the new algorithms. You can of course, also convert all your old images to use the new engine.
There are a lot of other useful features between v1 and v3 so it’s probably a good time for you to upgrade.
