I went on a business trip to Taiwan last week and was staying in Taipei on Saturday night. I had planned to visit the famous Shilin Night Market but while doing my research I discovered that another night market, the Linjiang Night Market, was a short walk from my hotel and not as touristy so I decided to go there instead.
This market is very popular with the locals and while I was there I didn’t see many tourists at all.
Linjiang is an open air market and is comprised of many food stalls as well as people selling clothes, shoes and the ubiquitous cell phone cases.
I didn’t sample any of the foods but there was a wide variety on sale including various fried things, seafood, stinky tofu, sausages, soups, noodles and sweets and deserts.
