Gorgeous Jenny!!!!!!!
This is a Surinam Blue Poison Dart Frog (??)- Latin name Dendrobates Azureus.
First time I ever saw one was in an exhibit in the Boston Aquarium…and was blown away by the colour and beauty…and I thought to myself…this is what the creator of the known universe might look like!!.. :DThis little guy happens to be one of my most favourite amphibians ever- next to the Red Eye Tree Frog (Agalychnis callidrynas) !! :D
Would love to see both in the wild…shutterbugParticipantSeaviewParticipantThat’s a fab shot Jenny, the colour is unreal. Was this in the wild?
Dave.
sndipoMemberWhat a capture! I think I know what’s the next Photo of the Month!
You got a great shot at him before he leaped on! Colours are fab! :)shutterbugParticipantThanks Dave & Vee, no unfortunately not in the wild (I wish) but lovely to
see all the same, I was in a Reptile shop in Dublin!! :)IsabellaParticipantshutterbugParticipantmiki gParticipantFor a moment, I thought you were making poison darts to stun the ladybirds.

Great minds miki…..great minds!
alanhunt99ParticipantmarkclehaneParticipantAhhh  Miki took my funny.
Seriously though, nice to see something different like this. Fair deuce to the guys in the shop for letting you snap it.
Lovely and sharp and nice pose too. I’ll suggest one minor niggle though if you don’t mind Jenny – that orangey streak coming in from the top right corner is a bit distracting. Considering the background though, I’d say it would be easy to disguise. Still a cracking shot :D
Mark.shutterbugParticipantThanks Alan & Mark, I can see what you mean about the stick, would be worth
cloning out alright.markst33ParticipantHi Jenny,
cracking shot. Was this taken through glass or how did you get access to it. Also what sort of a ringflash are you using ?? I am looing at getting one myself but have no experience with them What would you recommend ?
Cheers,
Mark S.
