Another dull overcast day perfect.
My sort of weather conditions for this type of photography, shot inbetween the rain, leaving the rocks, moss and trees wet to provide some extra contrast.
Shot using the B+W nd1000 filter, camera on tripod, mirror up and cable release.
Shooting details:
Camera in manual mode focused manually.
Iso 100
f11
Exposure 15 SecondsCropped to square format then converted to Black & White and tried my best not to blow the whites in the processing.
Hope this appeals to others and thanks for looking.

sndipoMembervividimagesMemberThanks all for taking the time to have a look and comment I’m glad the square crop seems to suit.
Tex many thanks for taking the time to critique the image.
I always expose my images to the right as far as possible without blowing the whites as I find nothing worse than printing an image which has zero ink on the page maybe in this occasion it was not the correct method and requires a different way of thinking.
I could maybe bring up lighter tones of grey in the darker areas in pp, but the actually scene had dark brown dirty flood waters and hence this reflects in the mono conversion. I’m not sure how I could work around this, I am open for any suggestions on how to improve on this as I’m sure I will be faced with similar tricky scenes in the future.Cheers all..

texMemberGareth,
I confess that I know nothing about PS but if I was printing this in my darkroom I would give the water area less exposure than the surrounding land. This would lend emphasis to the flowing water and give your photo more impact. To establish how much less exposure would require me to make test strips over the area in question.
vividimagesMemberTex, thanks for replying, I think I follow what your saying and can work to that in PS. I have never processed an image in a darkroom, nearest I have got to film was a throw away cam, only got interested in photography when i bought my first digital camera a D70, yep i’m one of them sinners lol..
