paperdollParticipant
My daughter had a dressing up party for her 6th birthday recently, and I took these shots of 2 of her guests….I think I may have gone mental with the contrast on the 2nd, and although I was happy with the composition/pose of the first, its obviously not technically brilliant.
I’ll let you decide.QuacklesMemberMental with contrast? No… I actually prefer the second one! Two very lovely little ladies, nicely done! Can’t wait til my kiddy is old enough to pose :)
jb7ParticipantGood stuff Paperdoll,
charming portraits, both of them,
and really well lit and processed-only really minor niggle is some of the stuff in the background-
maybe they could both be helped with a tiny understated vignette?j
AllinthemindParticipantlovely expression in the second, agree with JB about a bit of vignette, and maybe dodge the iriss a bit..
Si
PippateeMember2 great shots which would be lovely printed….
-I agree though….a subtle vignette would top them off nicely…
AliParticipantAww these are gorgeous Tara, the eyes just say it all :). Very well taken, I think i might boost the contrast in the first. The second shot is my fav. of the two :) Her eyes are incredibly sharp.
RavenAshMemberGreat portraits paperdoll.
In the second shot the whiteness on the right shoulder is distracting but overall I like them.paperdollParticipantThanks for the comments all. I think the advice across the board was to blur out some of the background distractions! I guess I should have copped that !
Would you just make a selection around your subject, invert and then add blur, or is there a better method?T
PippateeMemberIf you make the selection, invert and then copy to a new layer (ctrl+j), then you apply your blur you have a bit more control over it via opacity and level etc.
same effect tho…just a bit more adjustable…
paperdollParticipantjb7ParticipantI think it only needs to be toned down a bit- with maybe a little desaturation-
filter-distort-lens correction-vignette-the bokeh is good already-
j
DenverDollParticipantThey are both beautiful!
I love the perfect portrait style of the first, what mother wouldn’t melt over a capture like that?
I love the expression of the second.
Two treasures for somebody here
paperdollParticipantThanks DenverDoll, I was pretty pleased with them otherwise I wouldn’t have posted, so the feedback is appreciated :D
