LO-FI Road, recently recovered, yea right!
-
aoluainParticipant
Headed off to work this morning and returned home to come across this mess . . .
The road was perfect this morning, it is like a river of tar now, the tar and chippings
have actually lifted off the under surface. If we keep getting weeks on and off like the one
we are currently experiencing, the roads are going to be in a serious state.I think my car tax is being used for something else!
The image below is just outside my house.
PhotoeyeMemberI had to reduce my speed to 20mph on the way home as the road was like …. the above but were going to put the same muppets back into power.
randomwayMemberTell me about it, I had to change pants after going up to Sally gap in the weekend. These are not even potholes, they are cravasses… plus they cover the rest of the road with gravel, just in case you missed the potholes.
PhotoeyeMemberMick451ParticipantaoluainParticipantthe contractors did the usual,
smather on the tar on and then dump a load of chippings over it.
the heat has softened the tar and the chippings have been mashed through
the tar, it is so tacky that the new layer is pulled up because it is sticking to
tyres of the cars etc. driving along . . . 100kph.When I was taking these pictures last night the cars passing were not reducing
their speed. Their cars would certainly be covered in globules of tar, not to mention
what would happen if a car had to make an emergency stop.crazy
thedarkroomParticipantIt’s a right pain and quite often you don’t even know about it until the kids have walked the tar across the carpets.
cathaldParticipantWell Alan at least you have tar on the road to start with
unlike us poor buggers up here in InishowenaoluainParticipantYea I suppose there are worse off places all right.
It just seems like a big waste of finances to do this.
When it starts raining [shortly] that is going to wash
all that loose stuff underneath and make a total . . .
whats the term im looking for . . . Cluster-F**k out of it!How’s the cruise going? you can connect to the WWW anyway!
