Hello. I’m a new member who is taking his first trip to Ireland next week. Although not a photography trip, I would like to get out for some sunrise/sunset shoots. Our itinerary is for 4 days in Dublin with a day trip north to the Giants Causeway, followed by 3 days in killarney with a side trip to the Dingle peninsula. I have some locations in mind around Dublin (night shots of the bridges, Trinity College, etc.) but any advice, tips or pointers would be greatly appreciated. I specifically enjoy landscapes/ seascapes, but any suggestions would be highly helpful. Thanks!
MarkKeymasterYou’ll love the trip to Antrim. There is so much close to Giant’s causeway that it worth photographing and all around in a 10 mile stretch of coast.
Carrick-a-rede rope bridge
Dunluce castle
Ballintoy harbour
Elephant rock which is a short walk down the coast to the left from Ballintoy harbour
Whitepark Bay
A bit further inland is the ‘Dark Hedges’A quick google of the above will show you where they are located.
Enjoy your trip !. :)
MarkKeymasterIn Killarney, a trip out to Muckross house is nice (near Killarney) with a boat trip out on the lakes there (very reasonably priced).
Also visit Torc Waterfall which is a walk or a very short drive from Muckross.adrianmatthewsParticipantDublin – Landscape
Try to get into the mountains – Glendalough
Seascapes – HowthMarkKeymasterDepending on how you are getting to Killarney but you might be able to visit Gougane Barra which is just off the route between Macroom (outside Cork city) and Killarney
mlang62ParticipantThank you all for the replies. I’ve been thinking if time allows, getting out to Howth while are in Dublin. We are traveling with a tour bus to Killarney, so perhaps I could convince the group to side track to Gougane Barra. Again, thanks for the pointers!
adrianmatthewsParticipantDon’t forget to stick your photo’s up here when your finished your trip ;-)
