Here is one of the many images taken for a recent trip to Connemara

jb7ParticipantRobMemberLovely conversion, and a lovely location too, one of Ireland true
unspoiled beauty spots.
My own dear mother is a native of Maam in Connemara. No wonder
I turned out so well… :lol:Rob.

Beautiful. Love the tones.
Mr McShane I totally agree excellent.
SodaS-ManMemberMartinParticipantI agree with everyone that the tones and post processing here are all spot on.
I would however of cropped or of framed this shot differently when taking it (the perspective is fine). I thing there is to much sky in the image. I think that the dark clouds at the top of the picture sitting over the white ones are distracting and i don’t like them. I think the rocky/grassy foreground does not sit correctly in the current framing.
To fix the above i would have framed it the following way:
– I would have left out the dark clouds at the top of the picture so that the top of the picture started at the top of the white clouds
– To make the foreground rock/grass sit better in the frame i would have cropped from the left and the right by about a 10th of the width of the picture(the above framing would still leave you with a rectangular framing)
I will PM you Neil a version of the picture with what i would have done. This might all be just a personal thing so take it with a pinch of salt if you thing I’m wrong.

bethParticipantwonderful tones. the comp. is maybe a tad centered, but still nice work.
bethMr.HParticipantLovely image Neil. I’d echo everyone elses comments above.
My only quibble would be that shadow in the bottom right corner. I find it a bit distracting… almost like a blur/smudge.

neilmcshaneParticipantThanks for the comments.
Martin : interesting crop. Did not look at it like that. I am a sucker for big sky, dark and clouds.
