Lofi/toy camera Day, what came back from the dev lab….
-
MartinOCParticipant
This was my first day out with this camera, it didn’t do too bad, well worth the 23 euros (3000 jpy) I paid for it.
Provia xpro’d. The only pp’ing was reduction in pixels and a couple of scratches removed.
There was some flare problems, and misaligned frames and other toy camera goodness, but below are the most presentable photos.
Great to meet everyone, and thanks again Sinead for organising.[edit: web location of photo #10 was changed, no visible change]

aoluainParticipantLovin the Xpro effect!
great compositions throughout Martin.
Im gonna wait a while before picking my favs!
very different set, excellent Martin.
I’ll be back.

RobMemberBrilliant set Martin. The cross processing works incredibly
well on these type of images. Very unexpected result for me…ExpresbroParticipantVery very good Martin. Your compositional skills are really shining here.
Particularly like No.8. You really gotten a great angle on that shot. Most impressive.
Oh and No. 9 is quite brilliant too..whoever took it is obviously close to genius…
MartinOCParticipantThanks for the comments, the xpro did work out well, I think the bright day helped alot. First time I’ve tried it, will do it again
Not sure which is my fav, but I do like #10, quirky, of course the models are great too. I’ll have to check out the negative as the scan seems to have a bit of the next frame in it.
Now I’m off for the weekend….Martin
jessthespringerParticipantThese are brilliant Martin.. Really, like the cross process, gives them a very different look.
So, was it a C41 process? Or E6?Cool little camera, I might have to get one of those, love the wide angle.
Good to see these. Great set…
Sinead
GizzoParticipantare those from a Vivitar Ultra Wide by any chance?
I particularly like the people shot….number 10 looks like taken through a submarine’s glass!!
and I find the Onion Tower very photogenic!good stuff!

Tis a clone of that Vivitar by a Japanese company, exactly the same I believe.

Well the film was Provia, which is normally developed in E6, but here it is developed in C41.
The easiest cross process is to shoot slide film (ie Provia) and get it developed as if it was regular negative film (C41).
I got this done at the FujiFilm centre in Abbey Street, with prints and a cd, not too expensive.M
aoluainParticipant4, 5, 6, 9 they are my favs!
nice one robbie!
Martin again very interesting and different, i will be trying that meself!
Alan
MartinParticipantSorry for being late replying… 4,7 and 8 are my favorites again from a strong bunch
I like the cross processing, would be interesting to see how these look in print.

Thanks Martin.
Well if you want a print let me know, I will post you one. The prints came out stronger, more vivid colours (than what I see on the screen here).
As an example, in #4 the rabbit, in the print the ground is a strong yellow , and the “dithering” in the sky, in the change in tone from the vignette, is much less grainy.
I think the strong dithering in this post is due to the pixelisation by the scanner and then my jpeg downsizing.Martin
MartinOCParticipantgezzaParticipantgreat little camera and great idea to get cross processed – love no 4 think the saturated colours work well with the surreal sculpture.
