a). Some 21 people have so far declared. The thoughts of almost two dozen people tripping over each other capturing the same scenes is not something that I would believe would help gather a great variety of images…although it would no doubt be good craic.

    b) As it is World Toy Camera Day and we would likely be (I’d say) the largest group of like minded lo-fi photographers in Dublin that day, then I think it might be a reasonable idea to split up into teams of four and set out with specific objectives in mind. For example one group sets out to picture people, another group architecture, another transport, another group street photography or whatever. This way we might be able to build up a set of images which have been taken on World Toy Camera Day and which are truly representative of the conditions, light etc present on the day. A selection of images could then be posted on behalf of the group on the World Toy Camera Day webpage which would give a good representation of PI and of how the day was celebrated in Dublin, Ireland?

    c) As much as it might seem great fun, I think it would be nice to avoid too much of the ‘Seoirse takes Nfl’s photo’ or ‘Zoltan’s hair cut’ type pics. Ok maybe someone could act as group photographer to record the day in terms of who was there, but I would think it important that photos of ourselves would represent no more than about 3 per cent of images captured on the day.

    Just my 2c.

    that’s something to think about.
also, is that going to be ‘just city’ or can we go along the coast?

    now where’s my black veil?

If the Pro/Amatuer approach doesn’t work maybe we could split the groups based on Pies and # of Posts?

Just keep me out of the group that 451 is in… if he even lets a fart that sounds like ‘Fanboy’ there’ll be trouble.

Maybe this lo-fi day isn’t such a good idea after all.

    wtf?!

This day is open to everyone, it’s about getting out there and shooting some film.

Nothing to do with feckin amatuer or pro, or who’s friends with who…
I know that might have been tongue in cheek or funny or a joke or whatever,
but it’s exactly the kind of thing that puts people off.

I’m being serious, can you just leave it?!

I put you on the list Alan, after you told us about your ‘kipper the dog’ camera in another thread.
I forgot to take it off when you said you probably wouldn’t make it.

    Sorry.

    No bother Sinead.

No Alessia, unfortunately it’s a busy month and the Glendalough outing is on and…well, no, sorry, can’t make it…kipper or no kipper camera. I’m sure you’ll have fun anyway…it looks like a lively bunch.

Yes, me too… I think that’s a good idea. Thanks George.

We could organise it so that we keep meeting up? Or perhaps we wouldn’t have to split up?
Maybe it it depend how many show up on the day…

I apologise if it seems that I over reacted to the posts by nfl… It’s just it seems to me there is a lot of talk of cliques around here,
I just liked the idea of this day being open to everyone, without the worry of who is friends with whom, etc…

Everyone is welcome. Including nfl. And, yes, I’m being serious… I mean that!

    What’s going on here?
I mean, really, you can’t turn your back for a minute-

    So what did I miss?
How has this come to pass?
God, the older you get, the more seriously you take your toys…

    OK.. I’m in.

Disaster & emergencies aside… if I don’t show up then Mark can ban me from the site for a month.

    starting when?

Ok, last time we did a tourist bus-
not a bad idea, but we left it a bit late to make use of it-
I wonder if it would still be a good idea if we were to be a bit more organized?

Drama Joseph… But, all over now (I hope anyway)…

The bus was great, and I wouldn’t mind doing that again, or the boat, but I think we’d have more freedom on the bus? And, less chance of Mick getting seasick. tee hee
We could still do Georges idea on the bus, right?

I loved the bus last time… Just don’t forget warm coats everyone!!
