Just took a quick snap of this today. Handheld, and it was a bit of a stretch for the lens, so quality ain’t great. Any C&C appreciated.

I’ve seen similar shots before, but nothing like this. Very good framing and the sharpness is pretty good for a handheld.

It only really works at low resolution though. Some sharpening was done in PS but even at that if you were to zoom in it doesn’t look great, but like I said it was just a shot that I saw and tried to catch quickly.

I cant say I like the font or the frame – but picture wise this looks excellent.

Any suggestions for a frame, or what would improve it. I’ve only started trying to frame things because other peoples look cool but I honestly don’t know what I’m doing.

I think I’d call this ‘Over the Moon’ Brian. It’s a nice shot – even if it doesn’t hold as a bigger print it works well at this size.

As for framing – black with white text may work on this, although I am not totally sure the blues are vibrant enough to hold the black.

This is an excellent capture… the moon, the plane, the trail… having all 3 plus you camera on the ready… not an easy combo to bring together so that more than makes up for any issues in terms of sharpness. If you have a few seconds to grab something as unique as this then go for it!

I’d agree with gerardk on the font and framing.. doesn’t do anything for the pic. I like to keep the font the same at all times, never mix them, put the title to the left border of the image and the author to the right border of the image, or simply keep it all centred.. but thats only a minor thing!

Cheers for the comments lads. I might try what you’s are suggesting about the text and framing.
Nice name for the pic Mr.H.

    Cheers again

Ok I had a rebash at the framing and I’d appreciate to hear what you’s think again.

Personally I think the black is a little too dark but I can definitely see where you were coming from now with the white frame.

Oh and just for you Mr. H

Defo an improvement but I reckon make the font smaller… it’s far too dominating at the moment… it only needs to be about half the current size.

Keep the frame size as is and just decrease the font.

    Cheers for the help.

What was it about the first frame that was too weak. Was it that the white was too light a colour to be framingthe image?

When posting images with White Frames in PI they can often get lost as PI posts are done on White-ish backgrounds also. Sometimes you need a little dark trim around white borders of your image (when posting on PI) just to highlight the border ends. Hope that makes sense.
