I realy like the mood of this shot and the technique, but the composition really doesnt suit it in my opinion.

Its a very calm natural image and I think the bridge is just too modern and imposing. Plus the line it takes is distracting.

I would’ve tried this without the bridge, it would be alot better in my opinion.

But thats just my two cents!

I think it is a great picture yet another example of what can be done with long exposures, I will reall have to try this so all tips gladly accepted. The only thing I would do was crop it just above the clouds, swirls. honestly didn’t even notice the bridge.
    That’s 4 cents worth now.

Firstly make it slightly smaller for folks with screen res’ 1024×768 and smaller…or it isn’t fitting fully on the screen

I like the image though, but if it was me, I’d clone/heal out the lights as if they were gone it might add to the atmosphere…but if you could position yourself that the bridge wasn’t in shot (that possible?) it might be more minialist and might work better…

    But still good shot

Some interesting points there, thanks a lot for the feedback.Sorry about the large image, i only recently sussed out how to imbed an image in the actual post so i’ll bear that in mid for the future.I like the idea of cloning out the lights,i can see how that would really improve the atmosphere of the shot. But the angle it was shot at makes it necessary to include the bridge if i wanted the rocks in the foreground also.thanks again,Conor.

like this lots :). As aj said, there’s a lovely mood to these shot, very tranquil. Bridge creates a great leading line from the right into the center of the image. I do agree with the crop, just to bring the sky on the top third, but it works just as well here. Very nice :).

Cracking mood and colours. With flip flip on the composition, though, I’m afraid!

I really like this shot. Don’t mind the bridge at all and I don’t think it detracts from the shot. I do agree with cloning out the red lights though as I find them distracting and not in tune with the rest of the image.

……cloning the lights is the easy part, it’s the cloning out of the reflections that is the real tester!

The bit that fits on my screen looks great, so…..crop a bit off the sky and
bring the bottom line up to the little line of rocks, love the bridge and the
lights! You must have nearly 50cents worth by now :)

Please don’t get rid of the lights! In fact, I wish there were lights running the whole way along that bridge! Really nice image, and I like composition. Love the eerie blue tone too.

A very still and appealing shot to me. I wouldn’t change it in any way.
