As I approached the Blackrock Diving Board in Salthill, Galway on Monday
morning I could hardly stand in the strong wind so I didn’t expect to see
much activity of the swimming variety.

They are tougher people in this part of the world.

    John.

    Great set John-
for those who like a story to their documentary pictures-

You do know that you were completely mad to take your camera out in that sort of weather-

I like the sign that says it might be slippery…

    Hi John.
Great set. #4 is definitely my favourite of these. I wouldn’t be brave enough to swim in those conditions or go out to photograph someone else doing it  , so Well done.

John, #1, 2 & 4 are superb, some of the finest I’ve seen from you.

Hi Joseph, Miki, Dick and Brendan,

What a pleasant surprise to pop in home for a quick cup of coffee and
    find your much appreciated replies.

Joseph the “completely mad” possibility has frequently crossed my mind and
it occurred to me a few times during this session.
My stuff seems to be OK but time will tell.

Miki I would describe the swimmers actions as foolhardy and swimming conditions
    as bracing.
I got speaking to some of the participants and it seems swimming goes on here everyday.
I did keep myself very much in the shelter of the building but I must admit there was a lot
    of spray in the air.

Dick and Brendan thanks for you nice comments.

Thanks again to you all for taking the time to reply.

    John.

Nice set. I like no. 5 personally. The sign up above her saying ‘look before you leap’ is great.

I was only down for a short visit.
