Looking across Oysterhaven Bay…

I think you may be right about the ‘too much Coca Cola with my lunch‘ part
jb7ParticipantI’ve got to admit, I passed this by,
seeing it more as something that used to be called a Scenic View, rather than Architecture.
Since then, it’s turned from a conversation about a photograph into a tutorial about values-
and it’s needed rather a lot of justification.Rightly so, I suppose the correlation would be somebody posting a studio picture of a toddler in the People section-
not really very interesting to look at unless you happen to be the parent,
and not something the parent is going to ascribe value to unless he’s commissioned it,
or has at least already got into the habit of parting with cash to the photographer. The No.1 question: Who’s going to buy it ?
Closely followed by: What all will they want to use it for ?I understand is section of the forum comes under the title of ‘Photo Critique’ … but I guess form a commercial photographer’s point of view, my take on what that means is very different to your.
Not particularly interesting questions, in the context of a critique forum,
and I’m sure critique would be wasted here, so I won’t even try-
except for to say that if you hadn’t mentioned the Hasselblad, I really wouldn’t have guessed…
and it’s possible that it could have been taken in better light-
but there isn’t a North point on your satellite view, so I really don’t know-Commercial photographers do use photography as a creative and expressive tool-
it’s part of their development-
and considering that they’re used to more direct critique from clients,
perhaps they might use these forums for more personal work that wouldn’t usually get an airing otherwise…Defending your picture is to be expected, of course, but if it means shifting the goalposts to a particularly exalted area of the pitch,
then perhaps it has gone too far-joseph
