I took this pic over the w/e with my new AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D. It’s a great lens and I particularly liked this one. Please feel free to comment. Any feedback if appreciated!

Hi Smythy, welcome to the site, it is quite hard to see any detail in your shot
at that size (my eyes are not the best) you can post up to 800px on the longest side,
    so maybe embed larger.

From what I can see though, it looks to be a little soft or maybe the depth of field was
    short?

Hi Jenny. Thanks for the reply. I had trouble resizing as it was originally 2.5mb. What is the best way to display a jpeg of that size of the site?

I was hoping to display a short depth of field. I was trying all different settings and thought this was the best. Just goes to show what I know! lol

Hey Philip. Although I joined this site in may, I have rarely been on. I will post the pic and maybe a few more in the Photo Critique Section. The pic was taken of one particular flower amongst a bunch which may explain the business. I appreciate any comments at all as I’m very much a beginner regarding terminology. Cheers!

    Smythy75,

Its best if you host your photos on photobucket or flickr and then embed them here. There won’t be any limits in that case.
Btw, I uploaded your photo to photobucket (site’s account) for you and moved to the critique forum…

    Thanks

Hey Mark. I was wondering where it went to! lol Thanks. I’ll get the hang of it and I wont post again without knowing what the craic is! Thanks again.

if your lily is part of a bunch, i understand the “busy” background but in these case, you have the wrong crop. sometimes is good to follow the rules and in your case trying to frame the lily by rules of the third will be a help. from what i can see in your shot (not too much coz it’s very small) i think you’re a bit out of focus. it is a good try though.

I have to rectify the uploading procedure and then everyone will see my pics in all their glory. Or maybe not!! lol
