    Hi

I have been having a go at some night shots. This is looking over the bay at Mountcharles, Co. Donegal

Please let me know what you think as I would to try and improve my night shots.

    Thank you for looking

is the orange light pollution from the town? it looks nice anyway, i like the way the clouds catch it…
i think if you had a bit of extra (artificial) light in the foreground (right corner) it would add a bit of extra interest in the scene, maybe a toorch or something, not as harsh as flash?

    Hi Isabella,

Thank you for your comments and yes the orange light is 2 towns. One of them is small bit bigger than the other. I will try and get time to take another with lighting the foreground link you said to see what it looks like or I will try and do it with a full moon over head

Try a longer shutter speed also will let more light in and give you a bit more detail!

    Hi Jenny,

Thank you for that Jenny. I had it set at about 30 sec and I forgot to change my f stops. I have a 50mm lens on way 1.8f and hope the weather get better and I will try it with both lenses again and with different setting.

The above photo was taken with a nikon D90 and 18-200mm lens. I can’t wait to try it with the 50mm 1.8f lens to see if it will be any better.
