I was out and about and stumbeled on this shot, it is an old boat broken up and dumped in a forest. It has potential but I havn’t got there yet. Your C&C would be much appreciated

    Hi Charley

This one may sound silly, why not try this, move to the right to avoid the branch that is sticking up, move closer and convert to B&W, the blue and white may convert well, only an opinion though.

    Hi,

I would go for a portrait cropping to get rid of the tree in the foreground

I agree a B&W proper conversion is probably the way to go, with a bit of sharpening as well

well spotted, but is there a story with this?

second time ive seen you ask this….

how in the name of christ do you find out the story of a boat in the middle of the woods?

it was well spotted, pity ya isnt try out few more interesting compositions, or maybe you did?

thanks everyone for all the comments, I did try out different compositions, I will get back to them over the weekend and try some BW conversions as suggested, The problem with moving to the right is that you loose some of the detail and it lessens the interest in the shot. I will be back with a better version….

I have no idea how the boat landed there! it was broken up and a wider shot shows pieces strewn about. it actually isnt too far from the shores of lough Corrib, but it was differcult enough to get it to where it was left…

    No critiquing the critique please.

Its valid in a Documentary forum to ask about the story afterall documentary photography is all about the story.

I took your advice and tried again, but what do you think, colour or B&W, your C&C are most welcome
