Lough Allen, Co. Roscommon.

Spent the long weekend with the family just outside Drumshanbo in Co. Leitrim so took a trip down to the shores of Lough Allen. It’s a beautiful unspoiled Lough and was well worth the trip.
Wow, nice foreground. Maybe the chemical foam is a bit too much :)
Very nice image anyways.
Good sky and nice hills.
Might have been worth waiting a few miniutes till you got some light on those slopes.
I agree with Randomway, the foam does not look that great.Great capture i probably would crop out the foam .
the waves look nice in this shot so does the sky. :DI would have waited for better light although you were with you family so waiting an hour for light might not have been an option. Foreground wise i would have shown more as the foam looks a bit too cropped for me. I would have maybe looked around for some rocks etc to put in the foreground also (even pick one up from some where else and place them). Good spot to go back to but i don’t think you nailed it. With a 2nd visit I am sure you will

I will definitely be spending more time around this area, so I will drop back and have another go at this shot. Unfortunately I was a little time constrained (3 kids and 3 adults looking at me as if I was mad…!!) so waiting for better light wasn’t an option at the time. I did look for something like rocks but there just wasn’t anything available that I could see. I did get another shot with some posts leading out into the lake which I will probably post later.
There are so many lovely scenic opportunities around this whole area is definitely worth a visit.

The light could have been kinder to you Robbie, but you already
know that of course. Still, a little selective lightening of the middleground
might work wonders for this shot, along with a crop of the foamy edge
of the surf. I like it.Rob.
