Harry LimeParticipant
Provisionally, that sounds great to me :D
What kind of time would we be talking about? Sunset is at 10.05pm
latchikoParticipantThe 27th suits me too. I guess if we were to climb that hill it would be a good idea to do it while there is still at least some light. It’s not very steep but the terrain is a bit rough.
TinyMemberidealy, we would get there while its still bright ( say 9 ish ) and then stay untill its really dark and we are happy ( warm clothing, Flask of tea / coffee and mozzie repellant )
The other question is location. there are 3 hills, the one i was considering is behind the museum, you can climb up that, its steep though, and then you are looking down the length of the lake. The other hill is behind the castle, from there you have a great view i’m told ( i’ve never been up there ) however there is a sheer clif face that is best avoided in the dark, and the last hill is from where latchiko took his shot from…this will give you a view of the lake and the surrounding country side.
So, where to ?
latchikoParticipant9ish sounds about right to me, it gives us time to decide what we are doing and get set up. As I say, I’ve only ever been out there once so I don’t know the area very well. The view from the hill that I climbed is good but it took a stitch of 6 shots to capture it all. I think that a view of the entire length of the lake might be a better idea. Although to be honest I’d be happy giving any of them a go! :)
Harry LimeParticipantYeah, 9 sounds like a plan then.
There’s actually fairly high resolution images on google maps if ye’re interested in looking at the individual locations from the air.
TinyMemberwe’ll call it 9 at the carpark. If you have a folding / camping chair it might be no harm as we could be there a few hours. we can decide on the place when we get there. If you know of anyone else that would like to join us, give them a shout
we should confirm the details and weather a few days before hand
latchikoParticipantBrian_CParticipantSuper shot indeed. I’d love to see a larger version.
What PP have you used on this?
dave100ParticipantLimerick BanditParticipantI would love to head out with ye ion the 27th but im away that night mabe next time.
figParticipantWell if there’s going to be a meet, it’d be a shame to miss out. If ye’re going wouldn’t mind tagging along.
TinyMemberthe more the merrier, 9 at the car park ( inner carpark on the lake’s edge , past the toilet block). Lets hope the weather is with us !!
