Lough Key – Here’s my one…

    HI all,

After seeing David’s (dave350d) posting of Lough Key, I dug out this pano from last year.

Not sure about getting into too much detail in the number of frames this time!!

This particular part of the country seems to suffer from dull grey days most of the time. To see it looking like this good is a real treat.

good colors and if it is stitched good details… is it me or is the horizon way off? to the left

    Martin,

Not sure, but to be honest I don’t think so. Those mountains of to the left are the Curlews. I have this printed and framed in a pano frame almost 3 feet wide and it’s not evident on that. But I’ll take another look.

It might be just one of those things that I never noticed, I’ll take a look later and probably go OMG, how did I miss that!!

Yep, it was stitched. I use AutoPano Giga for stitching… (http://www.kolor.com” onclick=”window.open(this.href);return false;)

    I’ll keep you posted.

Lovely colours and nice to see a blue sky with little fluffy clouds! I dont think the horizon
is off it looks like the uneven line of the mountains is throwing the eye off a bit, but could
    be wrong.

    Martin,

I took a closer than ever look at the print today. I think that the horizon is OK. BUT what I think maybe creating some ‘optical confusion’ is:

The island to the right of center and behind the boat that is crossing the lake, appears to be pulling the image towards the lower LHS of the frame, this is compounded by the wind!! Which changes the water surface between the LHS of that island and the shore line again in a diagonal line towards the lower LHS. It’s this that seems to be drawing the eye in that direction…

Thank you so much for pointing this out and having me question and rationalize the image in more detail than I had before.

    Kind regards,

    Niall
