Lough Tay – First Posting

Hi All
I’m new to the site and first time posting, I only really got the bug a couple of months ago, took this one this evening at Lough Tay/Luggula.
Any suggestions on how I could improve would be much appreciated, I’m here to learn :D
Thanks
Sheena
brendancullenParticipantHi Sheena – and welcome to Photography Ireland.
I was also there last evening – about a mile to the left looking across the lake. The light was ok for about 10 seconds – which you seem to have captured.
If you don’t have an ultra-wide angle lens – there is a better point of view a mile to your right – at the S bend – where you could have included the whole lake…but it really is more conducive to a winter sunrise. Doing location research is an important part of landscape photography. You don’t want to be arriving just at sunrise or sunset and trying to find a ‘good spot’ to set up your tripod.
Here is an article which may interest you – and i’d recommend buying this magazine for 12 months.

Hope this helps a little.

sheenagMemberThanks Bren, will try that spot next time, although a wide angle lens is one of the next items on my shopping list!
Steve, thanks for that, can you let me know what I did wrong when posting originally?

I think you grabbed the link , you need to extract the HTML code which will look something like this
“https://s2.yimg.com/sk/3832/12670xxxxxx_a5d53dfd1d_c.jpg” and place that between the image boxes! If you click on the edit button of the original post you will hopefully see what I mean!
Sorry I am sure some one more technically minded would put it better!!
Regards Steve
