Louth/Meath – Somewhere I can take the family

Couple of weeks off – not heading anywhere as we have a baby in the house but hoping to get a few family days out.
Any suggestions for places in Louth/Meath (or wider) areas which are child-friendly and offer some photographic opportunities..

    Cheers,
    Paul

Drogheda might be nice. Easy access to Laytown Bettystown and that. There are some caravan camping grounds you can stay in there. was there a good few years ago and it was nice.

Enjoyed a day out in Bettystown with the kid and his cousins a while back.
Great beach, and that funderland type place kept them distracted with flashing lights and food for a few hours.
Laytown races are on in September too as far as I can remember – only racing beach course in Europe.
Not really interested in horse racing (prefer to photographer the people there myself) but the kids love watching them gallop past.

Could always pop up to Newry for a shopping trip.
Colleague from work was up there last week and was stunned at how cheap stuff was up north compared to down here.

O’Meath direction – Carlingford lough, the hills above, the “Long Woman’s Grave” and Flagstaff – good for photo opportunities and maybe some walking.
