I like the three of them Brian, the colour pop works nicely and gives a ‘Schindlers List’ feel to them… moody and dark

I got a loan of a Nikon D40 off a mate and I wanted to see how it worked compared to my own. Went out taking snaps but was just a little bit dissapointed with the level of dilapidation and graffiti everywhere. Ah well

I like these alot.. Like your processing. It that effect of isolating colour hard to do ? Read a few tutorials but never attempted it yet..
I either do the desaturation on a selection around the area (like in the third picture) or else desaturate everything and use the history brush to bring back the colour in certain areas like the second pic. Its not hard to do but can be a bit time consuming if the colours are small and in different parts of the image. I think there’s a better way to do (automatically) but I don’t know how to do it.

Pat, understand what you mean with the Schindler’s list feel/look but I think it’s inappropriate in that case.
Whoever visited Treblinka, Majdanek or Auschwitz, wouldnt compare it to those pictures.
I would agree on the moody and dark; there’s nothing happy in those pictures…
I really like the 1st and 2nd picture.

U.The only comparison was to ‘a movie’ and a directors choice of shooting.
PatPretty neat idea, well executed. I like it.
BTW: Urzula… I think you need to lighten up on the Schindler’s list thing… think lousy is referring to the colour pop effect they used in this film and nothing else.
NFL, now, perfectly understood what he meant, just found it’s a bit gauche to write it the way he did it. ‘schindler’s list feel’, this is what shocked me at first, and that’s it. Once the all thing is explained, that’s ok for me.
