Glendalough Lower Lake Winter 2010 by Michael Mc Carthy, on Flickr

I headed off in the fog and rain yesterday morning to try produce something this Christmas break and ended up spending a couple of hours in an almost deserted Glendalough as the mist constantly moved across the landscape. This is one of the better shots that I got, my biggest issue with it is the amount of white sky, but if I crop it out some of the main detail and colour on the left is lost. Any ideas?

Looks as if an ND Grad filter was required for this shot due to the bright sky contrasting against the darker foreground (I think… I am no expert!!)

There was no detail in the sky as the clouds were dense, so I left the filters in the bag, might have been worth a go though, thanks

I agree and intend to, it is different every time you go there so a great spot for practising. Appreciate the comments.
