A very nice young man I met in Urban Outfitters a few weeks ago…

    C&C Very Welcome.

Very good shot – Super isolation from the background, but you can see where he is. deadly chair!

It would be cool if he had put his head in his hands and pretended to be bored while his other half was shopping (not that EVER happens ladies – which is why it would look funny).

Great shot. Nice light from the side. Great expression on the guys face. Very neutral. I’m just wondering if you had to move the chair around Urban Outfitters to get it in the right light, or do they just understand that photographers might wander in to take shots of random shoppers!

Very good, very good… I like it.

I’ll say it again… must shoot some colour with my Mamiya… looks great.

I wouldn’t change anything about this. I think it’s great.

The colour, as mentioned is a very good feature.

Lovely relaxed feeling from this one and the lighting is great. Love it.

Have to agree with all of the above…

The subject looks very relaxed and natural, particularly the way he is holding his hands … no mean feat to acheive, in the middle of a busy shopping day,

well, well done I think :-)

Sinead, that is definitely one of my favourite shots from you. You are getting good at this portrait lark now ;-)

I’m thinking from the angle that this is a scan from the Mamiya? Probably totally wrong of course.

Either ways, really really nice portrait :-)

Very nice Sinead, the slightly off centre framing works very well.
It has a professional feel to it, with the props and lighting all coming together so well.
And good engaging eyes. Super stuff.

Yup I really like this – great feel to it

I thought for a second he might be a clothes designer in a workshop and this was a bio shot or something ;) then i read the posts and remembered our chat (duh!).

He seems relaxed and natural and there is a ease to the whole thing

    Really well done

Love it Sinead..he sort of pierces the paper and juts right into my attention..the colors are fabulous and his expression couldn’t be more appealing.

    Nice one :D

    Thanks very much everyone!

Just a case of being in the right place at the right time, I was wondering around the shop, it’s a really nice shop, obviously there are lots of nice things,
but the building itself is lovely.
This was on the second floor, lots of natural light, I saw the guy sitting there and walked around a bit, I knew I’d regret it if I didn’t ask to take his picture,
so I did a quick meter reading and asked.

I think he was a bit bemused at the camera and maybe a bit flattered too. This is exactly how he was sitting, I was afraid he might move, but he didn’t…

Yes, scan from the Mamiya, Portra VC, nice contrasty vivid colours from it, but I did pull the saturation on the yellows a little.

Thanks again everyone, you’ll all very kind!!
