On a drive back from Balbriggen along the old “coast” road came across this just outside lusk!!
C&C appreciated

irishshaguaParticipantBeautiful sky in this shot. I think becuase you were trying to get so much detail in the headstones, it has made the grass and some of the stone look very soft. Maybe this shot would’velookd better as either HDR or just a silhouette to get it all in one. It certainly has enough going on in the frame to warrant a good silhouette.
Nice pic though

Lovely sky, but I think it would look great in mono.

Not so sure about the conversion :?: :?:
Steve
Alan RossiterParticipantI think the conversion is the way to go Steve. I’d be inclined to add a black fill layer and reduce the opacity to around 50%. Then add a contrast adjustment layer and lower the contrast completely to the left and lighten to your taste. That should give it a bit of sparkle!!

DeeboParticipantI agree with the chaps above. For me the sun ruins the shot and draws me instanstly to this part. Might work better if you simply cloned it out with those great full clours just below it or cropped most of it out
Cheers, Dee
nfl-fanParticipantI find that the cloud formation coupled with the bright spot give this shot something that could be tweaked to the shot’s potential.
Here’s a somewhat similar situation where I just worked it to the shots advantage rather than scrap it.
I like the B+W. It always works well with graveyard shots. Similar to what wonka said… I’d look to enhance the mood, bring out some of the shadow with the burn tool and bring a blacker element to the whole shot especially the cloud areas.
Lots of potential, just needs some post-processing to make it bite.
DenverDollParticipantI too agree that the conversion best suits the photo. Very Nice composition!
NFL’s advice about darkening the sky would help tremendously as I agree with all that sunspot is overwhelming.
Like this!
