Right, well the name of this place which also served as a convent and orphaned has been well publicised over the years and its back in the news once again this week.
You’ll have seen some of jungles posts here in the Urban Landscape area. I’m chancing it by putting these in here
    as documentary… :)

All thoughts and comments, good/bad are welcome. On some I wasn’t sure whether colour or b+w…
I have some more which I’ll post up in another post or two.

    1.

    2.

    3. We came up the dodgy stairs and this chair was just there at one end of the large room, sitting in the middle. Seemed strange.

    4.

    Thanks

good shots, I like the way the corridor apparently ends in a place in total darkness, and that wallpaper, vaguely remember seeing something like that 30-odd years ago, I’m just about old enough to remember the end of the 70’s

Out of curiosity, where abouts is the building, is it Cork City or the suburbs, or somewhere in the county? There don’t seem to be any places like this around, or if there are, they are well hidden. Maybe one day I’ll find somewhere as interesting to photograph.

It’s in the city? I would have thought the place would have been demolished or redeveloped when there was plenty of money around, a lot of other towns and cities have probably had just about anything in a similar condition demolished, which is a shame. I must try to get to Cork in the next few months and see if I can find the place :D

Ah but the money ran out :D

Outstanding Mark, very grim pics, which means you have captured the story perfectly!
