Magic Mouse problem
-
markst33Participant
I have an iMac with the magic mouse and its has just ceased to work (the mouse not the iMac). It won’t connect via bluetooth. The keyboard is connected and working fine. I have replaced the batteries with brand new ones but no joy. Anyone else ever had this problem?
miki gParticipantmarkst33ParticipantIsabellaParticipanti seem to remember photsligo? having a similar problem before? something to do with the mouse?
i would ask apple on one of their online forums or something? ive never had any problems (so far) so i cant really be of much use…
MurchuParticipantTry placing a little bit of paper between the mouse back and the batteries, to hold the batteries more snugly, and ensure there is no slackness in the conenction between the batteries and the battery contacts. With my mouse, the connection would drop from time to time, until I did this.
Might be a more serious issue, but all in all, apple peripherals could be designed and sometimes manufactured a lot better, imo. The ball stopped working on my last apple mouse, and had the aforementioned issues with my current apple bluetooth mouse. When they work they’re great, they just don’t work all the time, in my experience, alas.
IsabellaParticipanti remember now actually that i did have trouble once and it turned out there was a little bit of animal hair between the battery and the contacts…
adrianmatthewsParticipantI dropped mine a few times….. stopped working after that…. but hey what do you expect.
Left my last one in Hotel room in USA…. wasn’t handed up by housekeeping.
Have to get around to getting a new one.If it a new system, under 12 months old look at your apple warranty, bring back to the place you purchased.
markcapilitanParticipantMurchu’s advice is good. And it works, most of the time (but not all)!! It’s the easiest solution to a crappy designed mouse. The functions of it are great though! I just wish they’d make a wired version of it.
