Mahon Falls in the Commeragh Mts
-
lousyParticipant
Took a drive to Dungarvan today and detoured to Mahon Falls in the Commeraghs.
Parked the car and loaded my gear on my back for the trek up to the Falls.
It was a long trek and a very steep climb up to the falls
#s 1to 7 is from start to finish-ish
Pat
SeaviewParticipantNice shots Pat of a lovely area, I would say you took these around noon judging by the shadows. Number 3 would be my pick of the bunch.
Dave.
lousyParticipantI would say you took these around noon judging by the shadows.
Cheers Dave, no it was around 4pm or after.
I met a fellow County man of yours on my travels there, very friendly guy… took some shots of him and his girlfriend and will email them on to him.
Don’t ask me his name though :?Pat
SeaviewParticipantOh well, I must say you got a beautiful day for your walk. As for meeting my County man of mine aren’t we all very friendly in Cork!!!!!!!
Dave.
mgstParticipantNice set Pat with plenty of detail the second two water shots work very well.
Mick
lousyParticipantDave… Yes I have to agree, any of my visits to the Reb County have been great experiences… very friendly people.
Mick Cheers pal, the light was against me for the water shots but with a cir pol filter they turned out ok-ish.
Pat
mcmartinParticipanthave you tried ND filters for “water shots” in a bright day like this that would be quite handful
but as it goes to these shots… seems like wonderful place… the last one is just begging to become panorama… maybe from one of the hills to the right???steelydanParticipantNice shots Pat , there is quite a walk to get into the falls, but with the dry-ish weather there dont seem to be too much water. My fav is the close up of all the bunch.
andy mcinroyParticipantLooks like an amazing place Pat and I like this series.
I particularly like the shot of the winding road leading up the valley and the closer shot of the fall.
Andy
lousyParticipantThanks Martin, John and Andy.
Martin yes those ND filters are on my shopping list :)
John. No not a lot of water, and I remember saying to myself I’d PEE more, but when I got up close ther was a bit more.
Andy. I was thinking of your mountaineering escapades whilst climbing up to almost the top of the falls. I had a heavy pack with tripod on my back which almost pulled me back on a few occassions, but all was well.
Thanks all for the feedback.
Pat
