Manual film equipment for sale -traditionalsit like myself!

Hey!
I am coming down with photography equipment and now desperate for rent it’s about time to let some of it go!
I’m selling a Nikon FM Chrome and Black film camera
A Nikon series E zoom lens – 70-210mm (used so a little focus stick)
A brand new (pretty much) fixed focal 50mm nikon series E lensI’d be looking for at least £150 for the lot – they are quality durable equipment and well film is on its way out so ebay hasn’t been too successful!
I still shoot in B&W film and love it, the smell of the chemicals, the magic of the development! If you’re starting out these are great products for beginner and amateur alike to learn photography off and unfortunately come at a very cheap price!
if you’re interested let me know, don’t really want to see them go but needs must!
Have fun experimenting with darkroom techniques and learning what makes a great photograph!
Many thanks!FintanParticipantIn my opinion the answer is a resounding NO. Film sales are up this year on previous years and cetainly our film training workshops are booking quite well.
Keep your FM, I bitterly regret selling mine years ago.
Fintan
ExpresbroParticipantI would definitely be interested in this ..but I don’t have ready cash right now (spent it all at Fotofest). Been wanting to pick up an FM for quite a while now. I have some Canon film stuff…but just want that Nikon feel… ;-)
If this doesn’t go in the next week or so keep my name on a list … :)

8)DJHParticipantInteresting … Personally I’ve come late to photography and started with a digital SLR …
now I’m going backwards (technology wise), only 6 months ago I bought myself a canon A1 and a 50mm lens … the images from this 1970’s camera is, well, as go as if not better then the DSLR … although I do scan the negs.
my usage of Digital v film is probably 50-50 …
I think Film still has a long life ahead of it … particularly for those into B&W. I wouldn’t sell the nikon …VitoldusMemberDefinitely no, I shoot 50-50 as well, do my own developing for both colour and bw, scan negs for my website, but i keep real prints in my folio, mixed with prints from digital.
elwoodprintsParticipantno worries guys – I have another FM and 3 lenses!!!
(I always carried a back up camera but now I’m strapped for cash and saying good bye to one of my babies until I can afford to buy anohter one – which I will don’t worry!!!)
Some encouraging statements there about film photography – I was starting to think I was all on my own in some photography time warp!!!
I joined a camera club and every now and again they have club competitions and they critique the photos entered but they usually say things like, I would have made that sky bluer, or you’ve got a green tinge from the ink jet printer!!!
N I’m just like – oops I thought they hand toned it that way!!!
I do like digital but it’s TOO perfect! In life there are very few Perfect images – often not enough clouds or a grey sky or a road sign in the way and I kinda like that – It’s more real and when you do get that perfect pic it feels all the more fantastic!!!I’m holding out on selling until I get a fair price and an apreciatitive photographer so do post me later if you can aford it – sick of selling on ebay to shops that just want to undercut you then sell it as some antique or something!!!
I’m doing a lot of rants recently – sorry!!!GizzoParticipantfor me, velvia 50 still rocks.
I was thinking about selling my eos33… but 100 euros more in the wallett will really change my life?
and thanks to Fintan, I am starting to consider the idea of starting B/W pictures ;) ;)VitoldusMemberMy all time favourite film eos is 50/50e. For colour fuji reala or velvia for slides, for bw ilford delta or fuji acros developed in either xtol or rodinal ;)
elwoodprintsParticipantMy two lens have gone on ebay – sniff!
So just my Nikon FM Chrome and Black Body left to go to a good home!
Any interest let me know!
