Another from the same photo shoot in a hairdressers, I loved her expression in this shot, she was trying not to laugh as there were people standing around wondering what was happening

I think you’ve compressed this a bit too much for us to have a real idea
of the quality. There also seems to be some ropey looking cropping around
the borders of her hair which makes it look a bit odd.

If you have Photoshop (or similar) see if you can “save for web” from the
original. We might be able to make some good suggestions then.

I agree with Blokey chap above and would add that the perspective you are shooting from (above) shortens her neck and wouldn’t the most flattering angle ;)

Thanks Petethebloke, thanks LoGirl, kind of you to take a look and offer your
advice and critique. I appreciate it.

    Petethebloke,

I hope that this isn’t a comment directed to me that I’d not yet replied as I’d not been in a position to do so.

I do appreciate both the critique and feedback given by you or LoGirl but not your sarcasm which was neither requested nor helpful. I’d ask that any such future comments you feel obliged to make on my appreciation of any help given by you or other users are pm’d to me and kept out of the public domain. I don’t think comments reflect well on you and I’m sure they are not of general interest to users of this forum.

I’m sure you’ll understand that, although I came on now to reply, I’m no longer in a suitable mood to do so and will respond to the help you have given at a later date.

I think when we’re in an environment, where we have complete control of the light, there’s really no excuse for exposure/lighting problems. If the shot isn’t right, you can adjust and take it again.

Technically the exposure is too hot and the lighting is flat and unflattering. Leaving that aside, the skin tones are off (to warm). In terms of personal taste, I think the straight on perspective as well as having the subject look up, both detract from the image considerably, as does the processing of the skin in PS. With softer lighting, you’ll find that you can achieve much nicer skin without the need to blur/destroy it in PS. In the words of a friend, I’d invite her back for a re-shoot her again.

Thanks for all the feedback, I think I’ll chalk this one up as one that didn’t work.
