I have advertised this space in the past. It has been sublet for the last few months and is still a steady business despite the downturns we are all experiencing. I am happy to say that the girl who was subletting from me is now moving with me to a new bigger location in a different area of the city centre where we will be working together.
The location is based in Dublin 8, off Thomas Street in a well established market. It is open Thurs – Sat and there is an option of being open on Sundays on the run up to Xmas. It is a small unit with a one/two light system. This will never make the millions we expect from our business but it will give you a steady wage weekly. It has been running for 3 years so you will find a large amount of repeat custom at this stage. The manager of the market and myself both agree that it will be best kept as a photography service for this reason. To date, I have been offereing a standard service, 8×10 & 5×7 printed instantly. Specialty wall portraits ordered for collection the following week. Frames, keyholders, miscellaneous items. Canvas prints are now a popular seller also.
The rent is very reasonable, paid weekly, no extra costs such as rates etc. There is no long term lease required. No deposits are required either. Interested parties are free to use the space as they wish as long as it provides a photography service. This is ideal for a person who wants to start a business on a part time basis. It will give you tons of valuable experience without huge pressure financially.
Can you send me details of the market. What is the rent like? What kind of prices can you charge for photographs? Would be interested in stall
Thanks
Brian
