Marking/branding equipment

Hi All,
I was wondering what people did to brand their equipment in some kind of solid way. I’ve been using labels from a Smart Label printer which look fine but can be peeled off very easily. Is there any solution that’s a little more permanent? Something that can be used on all sizes of equipment would be ideal (remotes, batteries, light meters, cables etc…)
