    Hi everyone,

These furry guys are quite common the the high Rockies and are resonably approachable. Took lots of shots but these are as good as it gets. Only had a 70-300mm Sigma with me. Would have loved to see the same shots from the 300mm f4 IS. Joys of ‘on the fly’ travel photography. C & C most welcome.

Nice work. You did a good job with the light in the first. I’d crop it to 6*4 ratio landscape…. I think less might be more in this case. I’d consider cropping the second to remove some of the space on the left. Did you sharpen the second one?

Cute aren’t they? I’m nearly sure that I’ve read they are distant relatives to the Elephant.

Surely you mean the Marmoth (Mammoth) Joe

On a more serious note, have to agree the light on the first shot is great. Maybe a little crop on the bottom.

    Thanks for the advice.

Both shots had to be sharpened lightly due to the lens quality. I have recropped to your specs. See Below. Cheers.

    The first one is improved.
You shouldn’t crop the right side of the second photo, the marmot need more vision space……
