Not as the official photographer, but I took what I could, my mate is the groom….

What do you guys think? This was my first wedding.

Just post the best 4 imo.

    1.

    2.

    3.

    4.

Looks to me you’re giving the official photographer a run for his money.

#1 and #3 would standout for me.

Pity you didn’t get all the bride’s arm in the shot but thats just me.
Also noticed there is a blue speck on the lapel of the jacket in case you missed it.

    On #3
Good capture on the horse play moments you tend to see during weddings,
nice to see she’s relaxed and enjoying herself.

Well done on your first outing. :)

Can I ask what type of lens were you using for this wedding.

1st shot is a bit dark…maybe half a stop. Try and get the all important whites in their eyes showing. The others are fine! I like number 2.

    Thanks guys.

Shot 1. I know I missed Ciara’s elbow – but it wasnt a planned shot, they posed, I shot, I only got 2 shots before they were dragged off, and that is the best one. Had I time, I’d have reshot it. Didnt notice the blue fleck – I’ll remove it before I show the couple. ;)

I used 2 lenses, those 4 were all using the Sigma 50-500mm on my Nikon D80 The other lens I used was 18-135mm nikkor

not a critique but a question,

in the last picture of the groomsmen, was the sun behind you? there seems to be a slight squint in their eyes and it’s in a bit of shadow. i often do this and i wonder what would improve it in an outdoor setting.

It was indeed. Behind me to my left. I tried to turn them away from it a bit to minimise the glare.
