Not sure you could make a living out of Gorilla portraits, but you really seem to have a knack
for it.
What a great shot. Love the composition and the light.
You reall achieved what you were looking for with this one are you sure he wasn’t sitting in a studio? He looks like he is pondering the troubles of the world and going to be able to solve them. Looks like one smart cookie.
Lovely shot Sancho. Would like to see more of his eyes though. I really love these guys..could just sit and watch them all day..though of all the animals I think they look the saddest in captivity…
Great focus, exposure, sharpness. Looks like the light wasn’t helpdul at all but you handled it well. The conversion is fantastic. Robbie pointed out the only thing I’m missing, just a little bit of eye contact.
Yeah it’s a pity i couldn’t get him to look up (didn’t have any bananas on me….or modelling contracts for that matter :D That and the feckin glass!!!! and the feckin kids!!! GRRRRRR. I really need to invest in a polarizing filter too.
Was this in Dublin Zoo? I’ve never been able to get a shot of the Gorillas there. I’ve tried using a circular polariser but had no joy. The glass in there enclosure just catches the light and it glares up. A lens hood doesn’t help.
He was sitting right in the corner so i’m amazed i could get such a clear glare free shot. That and the throngs of people that always seemed to appear just as i was about to take a shot…it’s a conspiracy i tells ya!
