Maybe I shouldn’t post these but what the hell!

I was browsing the Kodak website a while back and I came across these. They are a few of the many directors and I just thought they were particularly striking but not necessarily for the right reason. Have a look yourselves and see what you think . . . I reckon you’ll understand what I mean :o

BallymanParticipantDeeboParticipantMarkKeymasterDave,
Just moved this as you can’t ask for critique on photos you don’t own.
Interesting portraits though :)
Cheers

I kind of guessed that I might have it wrong and wasn’t even sure if maybe I was committing some sort of infringement. I reckoned if I was wrong it would be corrected for me,
Cheers,

Have the smiles been photoshopped in??
Not sure about Photoshopped but there is an application that someone showed me one time that ‘corrects’ a portrait to make it more acceptable. I can’t remember the name of it but I reckon that something similar was used here and it looks like the images were run through the process more than once, definitely more ethan it should have been. These people look like they are smiling as if their life depends on it and the skin texture looks like it has been stretched a little bit too far. I’m just surprised that a company of Kodak’s standing would post photographic portraits as extreme as these while still trying to preserve a conservative ambiance. It just doesn’t work (in my view anyway).
Is there a sport called extreme smiling? I reckon we could have Olympic contenders here :)If I come across the name of the application I’ll post it here.

thedarkroomParticipantjb7Participantjaysis, not again-
the last time that thing was posted the site nearly went into meltdown…aoluainParticipantDermot1Participantholy crap, i just downloaded the free trial and can’t stop laughing at how terrible the results are, it seems to want every pic to have the cheesiest grin imaginable, truly a frightening development in the world of photography.
MartinOCParticipantThis portrait professional is a hoot, love it. Thanks for the link. The head re-shapening is the best.

bigalguitarpickerParticipant“Teeth like Tombstones” is how I once saw the Osmonds described. “When they all smile at once, it’s like a graveyard laughing at you!” Teeth (huge white, bleached and veneered) seems to be an American fetish. Apparently Elin broke one of Tiger’s pearly whites “helping” him out of his car, or maybe into it. With a golf club. And that’s why he hasn’t been seen since in public. BIG SHINY AMERICAN TEETH RULE! YEAHH!

Wouldn’t you love to try it on someone like Shane McGowan and watch the application go in to meltdown. I’m sure it would have it’s limits :D
AllinthemindParticipantThe lighting and head angles on these are actually good (apart from the backgrounds).
Zygomatic pull to maximum and save.
