Me Lillies
-
Brian_CParticipant
I was bored on Saturday so took some photo’s of some Lillies in the house.
Place the bunch next to a window and snapped a way…..ISO100 1/125th f2.8
Brian_CParticipantAh guys come on!! Nobody talking to me? I’m getting a complex. This is worse than being told it’s crap, at least I’d be learning it’s crap.
Seriously thou, do ppl not like it, not see the point of it or does it not stir up any emotion.
C&C please.
JohnParticipantWell I kind of like it, but it is just lacks something. Not quite enough definition on the pollen stems maybe.
DenverDollParticipantHi there~~~
It’s lovely but could have been improved by displaying the full petals outward I think.
Right now the pollen stems are the full attraction and I don’t think..( I might be wrong) that is what you were going for?)
It is not a bad photo however, don’t think that at all. The color and the exposure are nice and I would have loved the depth of field had you been able to squeeze all the flower into the frame :)

insertnamehereParticipantHi Brian,
I like it, the colours are vibrant and it really jumps out at you. There is a lot going on in the background, it seems a bit messy to me, maybe a sheet of white paper behind would work, and compose so the whole flower is included. Alternatively you could focus more tightly on the stamens and really try to throw the petals out of focus.
Hope this helps.
Mark.
Brian_CParticipantThanx for the feedback guys. I’ll defo try the white card background and see how that goes.
I’d purposely not included the whole flower to get foccus on the pollen stems. I’ll try again over the weekend.
Cheers.Noely FParticipantThe funny thing about macro or close up flower shots is that you show the whole flower or a section of the flower :D
I think what lets this image down is the composition…..You’ve got about 80% of the lilly, missing the tips of the petals
Try a different crop and see what happens :D
