Yeah before I got my Mamiya kit I went to the repair man beside DML and asked for a quote for a Hassie kit of a body, back, waist finder viewer and a “standard” lense, and he quoted me around 1,200…
Although he hasn’t said so, it sounds to me like Gerry is making an offer, and a very good one at that. I think it would be foolish not to consider it even just a little bit. You’d be surprised how much difference a prism finder can make, especially when you’re starting out and aren’t used to the idea of a laterally reversed image. I have an ETRSi too but it’s not for sale ’cause I love it too much and for what I’d get for it I’d rather hang on to it in order to keep the option of shooting MF. My kit also includes the 40mm, 75mm, 100mm Macro (what a lens!) and 150mm, 3 120 backs, Prism Finder AEIII and Angle Finder (great for low level work) and the manual winder. When combined with the winder and prism finder, it handles very similar to a large SLR camera.
Don’t dismiss the Bronica in favour of more ‘desirable’ brands such as Mamiya or Hasselblad. In most cases you really won’t be able to tell the difference between them in the final result.
