This flash has seen very little use on my hasselblad but I’ve found it great and exposes well anytime I did use it.

All the accessories, manual and box is included and the photo shown is the item for sale.

    Asking price is €125

I’m on the lookout for something like this.
If it’s still about by payday I’ll have an offer for you.

    Hi Cormac,
I can hold it for you if you want me to. I work in Dublin city centre so that might be convenient for you.

What battery does it come with?

    Is the charger included?

    Are any (SCA) adaptors included?

    Brian,

These will work through a sync connection. I have one and find it incredibly easy to use and very powerful. SCA adaptors & cable, you may know, can double the price of your flash system.

Thanks, Alan. I know very little about flash photography – obviously.

Fintan, this seems to be excellent value for money and I was tempted (yes, it was a gadget thing). However, I’m giving serious consideration to a body upgrade and will probably hold off on other purchases for a while. Plus the Euro-Stg rate still hasn’t returned to normal levels!

I had it on a Hasselblad and unfortunatly I’ve no idea about using it on a D300, is there a Nikon forum you could ask or anything like that?

Ah I can do a bit of net research later at home Fintan..ta. I’m assuming it would be more powerful than the SB800..so would be handy for group shots etc.

Trouble with me isI wanna buy everything I see for sale..

 Even thinking about your Mamiya..not seriously though..she’d kill me.. :D

    Robbie,

I don’t know the Nikon flash but I’d imagine it’s a TTL flash. This as it is works purely manual through the sync socket. You can get an SCA adapter with corresponding cable (expensive buggers too) but as far as I know won’t do TTL readings (someone can correct me). You need the digital version for this. The GN is 45 which should be similar in power to the modern flashes.
I have this flash and use it more than my other Sigma 500 EF-DG Super. The Sigma is fine for the parties or social gatherings but for the set up shot I use the Metz. It’s powerful and simple to use – no menus to go through and symbols to learn. I’d recommend it but get a spare battery holder, or rechargeable battery. The Digital version is over €400.
