Set up the home studio for a photo shoot with Christine. Used canon flash place on ground to light background and trigger the studio flash. C&C appreciated.

    Nice shots Jason

The lighting is nicely done, the second would be my pick of the two, nicely lite and framed

Thanks Peter, just a couple. have a few more great shots on my site from the shoot – we had a bit of fun trying out different poses. Christine liked the second aswell :), she was trying not to laugh too much flicking her hair about for the camera

    Jason,
Have to agree the second is a great shot lovely light and looks natural. The fact that she is obviously enjoying herself makes it.

    Hi Jason,

Have to say very nice, nicely lit, as I’ve just ordered a backdrop my self, I’m really impressed, was the flash on the ground behind the model??

I Like the second too but I cant see the first :) I saw the rest of the shoot on your website and it looked like a good session.

Thanks for the feedback, really happy with how the shoot went, helped that Christine is a natural and enjoys being in front of the camera.

Chris, the backdrop is used is 10 foot roll paper, i had to use a canon 550ex to trigger the studio flashes as there is no pc cord on my camera, so used it to my advantage and placed it on floor hidden behind model to add extra light the white background aswell, used radio triggers to set off the first flash

Great job. Just shows how what can be achieved with few resources. Well done.

    Hi Jason,

The first one, the models right arm is weird looking, you should photoshop that. Liquify tool should do the job.
Second one just seems slightly out of focus.
I don’t really like white backgrounds either, personal thing. I always work with one though, but never fill it. A neutral grey or beige is much easier on the eyes and makes the subject pop a bit more. You should try it sometime. keep the model a few feet from the background and just point the lights at her.
    Good job overall though.

If you don’t mind me asking what lenses did you use on this? And what lights do you have?
