Moiré Patterns When Photographing TV

When I pause a TV program and take a photo of my big rear projection TV, the pictures always come out fine.
However I get Moire effects about 30% of the time on my LCD TVs.

Any suggestions regarding manual settings for avoiding Moire distortion?
Hmmm, not sure but I wonder does shutter speed – screen refresh rate have an impact.
Perhaps take a look at the exif info of those photos which came out fine in the past and compare to those which didnt
