    Moon by SnapperAaron, on Flickr

This is my best photo so far of the moon. I am using a non IS canon 70-300mm lens on a 1100d which does not have a shutter lock and both limit clarity so overall I am quite pleased.

Good detail, but I think it’s a little bit dark. Also a bit of green fringing on top left & slight purple fringing on bottom right. Overall, a nice shot.

I had not seen the fringing until your comment and now I really stands out, I will have another stab at post processing. Thank you for the observations I really appreciate the pointers.

Moon 2 by SnapperAaron, on Flickr

I converted the image to black and white to remove the fringing and increased the exposure to brighten the moon. I dont think increasing the exposure really worked, maybe increasing the ‘white’ would have worked better. Anyway version 2. Again I really appreciate the comments as this is how I learn.
