I wander of there sometimes in my lunchbreaks and have been trying to put some shots together, nothing as extensive as Alan’s project at the moment!
Few of the recent ones. All comments welcome.
DeeboParticipantGood section of shots.
Second one is my fave, I think a short crop from the top to remove the sky just above the building would really help the balance of this. The sky looks great in the reflected puddle but not above the building. Leave it to the viewer to imagine.
3 would work with some selective gaussian blur to leave on the tram linesDee
robmgraMembernice set. i really like number 1 myself. i think no. 3 would have been nicer if youd gotten a bit lower.
alancotterParticipantI really like the light in the first shot and the composition is spot on, to be fair…
The second might be a lot more interesting if the emphasis was on the reflection in the water more, i think.. Still not a bad shot.
The third shot impressed me the most, don’t have reason as to why, i just like it…
well done man, keep up the good work..
AlanRestlessNativeMemberThanks for the replies all
The 3rd shot is probably my favorite for some reason, i did try getting lower on the day but the reflections sorta looked better to me from the angle I shot at.
Still plenty of subject material over there to play with.
Alan, if you see a shifty looking bloke with big sideburns over there and a d80 that’s probably me so say hello :)
alancotterParticipantI sure will…
Did you manage to get there today?? With the snow, it would have been superb to shoot there today..
MartinOCParticipantAll very nice shots, number 3 would be my fav too.
#2 could do with a bit of lens correction I think, the building looks a bit wonky, #1 has this too but perhaps I’m being picky.Good stuff,
Martin
Harry LimeParticipantGreat set. The processing ties them together nicely. The light was very tricky in 2, but you pulled it off I think. I’ll have to go for a look down there next time I’m in Cork.
RestlessNativeMemberNo I didnt get over there in the snow Alan, shame
I might invest in PT lens or something, the 17-55 has a fair amount of barrell distortion at 17mm
