Robbie can’t argue with that for a first shot excellent. What lens did you get with the camera.
SodaExpresbroParticipantThanks Carl :-) I got the 18-135mm Kit lens. Seems grand to me anyway. Although I haven’t figured out how to get it to Auto Focus. I’ve had to use the manual focus ring on anything I’ve shot so far. Not that I mind..it’s dead easy..and I kinda like that way of doing it :-)
GrahamBParticipantThis is going to sound terrible – it’s not I curious.
Is there not a af/mf switch on the lens.Really just curious.

I’m having a really crap day in work – am i missing something here
ExpresbroParticipantAh forget it…must have been drunk on excitement when I was playing with it last night..seems fine now…
Ans yes..I did know there waS mf/af switch..but it didn’t seem to do anything… no bother…must have been a momentary lapse of reason :D
ExpresbroParticipantGrahamBParticipantI was actually just curious, a friend has Minolta film SLR and the af/mf is a tiny little switch
under the lens, took me ages to find when I borrowed her camera a while ago.Oh and I have had my camera for about six months now and i only just figured i had a DOF preview button.
I never knew what that little unmarked button was for. Says something for reading the manual, which i never did
to my shameExpresbroParticipantI saw that on the manual for this camera actually. The DOF preview. I pressed it last night and again didn’t seem to do much. But It was late so was dealing with fairly low houselights..Apparently it’s a handy little button to have…so must investigate more. I was expecting to see the background blur and the viewfinder get a bit darker..but none of that seemed to happen..but then again..i didn’t notice the AF working for that matter either..
Think I’m gonna have to lock myself away with my dark lover and learn about her.
GrahamBParticipantWhen i got the Canon first I did exactly that.
Locked myself in the house and started taking pictures.
Pressing all the buttons and seeing what the end result was like.I even called in sick for two days after i got the camera.

Don’t have that option unfortunately…they all know here that I got the camera (who doesn’t?) and would be dead wide to that. Of course I have it with me in the office…but no bloody time to do anything with it.

Robbie, I am getting seriously worried about you now!
Wait till you start lusting over some exotic lenses.
Then your dark lover will get jealous, refuse to work with them and just walk out on you!
Nice photo btw.
