I was passing over the M50 from Fingals to the back of the Airport and couldn’t resist capturing some light trails from the bridge.
C&C Welcome
markst33ParticipantNice shot. However (and this is just my opinion) I think there is too muck of the black sky in the picture. I would have angled the camera downward slightly to cut out as much of the sky as possible and have the bend in the road heading towards the top RHC of the shot. Again, I don’t know if it was possible to do this from where you were standing.

bigalguitarpickerParticipantNice colourful capture. Did the street lights turn out like that, or did you do some processing on them?
ssheridanMemberHi,
Thanks for the feedback.
Unfortunately I didn’t have a tripod with me when I took this shot, so I used the railing on the bridge to rest the camera which limited my compositional options. I think if I were to print this I would definitely crop some of the sky from the top of the shot.
No post processing on the street lights, the 8 point stars and a result of the camera lens and aperture.
Thanks for the comments.
RASMITH32MemberThis shot works for me. I especially like the plane taking off in the background/. Only thing I would say is its a bit yellow. You could try tone this down a bit else next time try the tungsten WB setting . It works really well for these types of shots IMO
Nice job……..especially consider you had no tripod
PixelleMember+ the above, also you have caught the watertower, looks like an ice-cream sundae.
DanBParticipantExcellent capture, Stephen! I couldn’t say that you hadn’t use a tripod until you said it. I wouldn’t go there myself without it, so thumbs up, very brave. Didn’t noticed the plane taking off, so thanks for pointing that RAS.
Great result!
ssheridanMemberThanks for all the comments guys.
The shot does look a little yellow, but the scene was actually quite yellow from the motorway lights. From memory, its actually a fair representation of what I say on the night. I did try adjusting the temperature slider in Aperture but IMO the shot didn’t as good as what came out of the camera.
