Mountain village

here’s one from a few years back, taken in Northern pakistan.

The more elevated building is an old fort, the lower village is recently built.

From memory, that is cloud rather than a skyline, if ya know what I mean.

I’ve darkened the original slightly, but it still feels a bit bright for my liking….I think it has potential but not sure how to bring that out.

    Thanks for looking.

I clicked on this image as there were no comments on it with the intention of being the first but when i looked closer to try and find some constructive feedback to leave I found it challlenging to do so. Whereas there are no glaring technical faults and compositionally its ok too, it might be improved by a strong focal point but its fine so all that said it should make for reasonable photograph at the very least .But yet when i look at the image it doesnt hit the mark for me at all. I asked myself why is that the case and the only reason I can put on it is that perhaps it would work better as a documentry or travel shot rather than a landscape study. I have seen shots like this work really well when displayed as part of a panel representing documentry travel or a study of an area or the lives of the people in an area but as a stand alone landscape image it falls short. Sorry if my comments are critical but speaknig for myself I would prefer negative contructive commetary than no comments at all…

Hi, thanks for the feedback, its appreciated and its interesting….I tend to agree with you……it should be a better picture that it is, in that the landscape is attractive but it just doesn’t add up to as much as it might…..I think myself probably I should crop out the lower village, but even then there is the problem of lack of a focal point.

    Tks.

Would probably have benefited from a graduated ND to work on the haze in the top half.

I always find pictures of big mountains a bit overwhelming – quite difficult to get the correct composition.

A sharpening layer and a brightness adjustment layer might help.
